Every school morning except Wednesdays, I have this routine. I throw on my workout clothes at 6:30, grab a kid, grab my huge coffee mug, deodorant, makeup, and decent work clothes, and throw them all in a bag to get out the door around 7:10 (well, I don't throw the kid in a bag, usually.) At 7:20 we pick up our nephew, who is also in kindergarten with my daughter, and down the road we fly for a half hour, while they argue about whether or not they will be each other's best friend that day in the back seat.
I drop off the kids at the school and then go three driveways down to the high school stadium. I get out of the car, put in my headphones, and leap quickly up and down the stadium steps, and then run a 4 minute mile around the track..... Just kidding. I do go to the track, but I sort of groan as I walk up and down the steps twice, and then I'll walk for 3/4 of the track, and then jog the last 1/4, sometimes mixing that up depending on how much I feel like I'm dying, repeatedly for about 30 minutes or until I feel like I've raised my heart rate..... enough.
Then, I head to the studio, grab my bag, and change to get ready to be approachable for the day. The bag I grab is one my sister got me for Christmas a couple years ago. It's a thirty-one bag with one big compartment and lots of little compartments for water bottles, bananas, coffee cups, etc around the side. I use that thing all the time- not just for my workout clothes, but to pack a picnic for my family when we head to a rodeo, or to pack extra clothes for the weekend, or to pack cooking supplies when I'm headed to cook with my neighbor. It's my go-to bag.
I like it so much that when my friend and client Miranda started selling thirty-one, I decided that I wouldn't mind shopping with her for another daily carrying bag for my work stuff. But, I hate those online facebook shopping parties. I can never get a good grip on what the product really looks like. So, Brooke and Miranda and I decided to have an open house at the studio, Nov. 17, from 5:30-7:30 pm, and it's also a BENEFIT thirty-one party! It's come and go. A percentage of the proceeds will go toward our church, Cross Creek Cowboy Church in Zachary.
So, come on by that night if you'd like, whether it's just to visit, to shop for some Christmas gifts from thirty-one, or to get set up for some family portraits. I'd love to see you and visit. (Just don't ask me how fast my mile running is, because I have no idea.)
