Sara and Troy's wedding at Desert Plantation

Sara and Troy's wedding was a really classy shabby chic. The yellows and turqoises and browns with burlap looked so pretty together. This was my first wedding to do at Desert Plantation in the rain, and it all worked out.

Heather and Adam's super awesome picture

Pinterest has certainly changed things in the wedding photography world. I try to still do my own thing, but if people have a great idea they saw on Pinterest, I have no problems trying it.
Heather and Adam didn't request this pic, but I've been wanting to try something like this for a while. They allotted plenty of time in their wedding day schedule for cool pictures like this, and they weren't in a hurry to leave either, so we had time to play with the sparklers to create this.
Jesse, the very talented sparkler artist/groomsman, was our lighting specialist for this shot.

Jackie's bridal pictures

Well, today I'm writing this blog post before the wedding and scheduling it to be after the wedding, so that I don't accidentally 1. forget to blog about the bridals, or 2. post this before the wedding and get in big trouble for showing what her dress looks like.

Here's the deal with Jackie and Christopher's wedding- they are getting married on a cruise ship, which I think is a great idea for keeping the wedding process simple. It sounds like the hardest part of the wedding has been picking her dress and getting the engagement and bridal pictures done.

Jackie's dress is so feminine, don't you think? These bridals were taken at Desert Plantation. The stairway pictures are probably subconsciously inspired by AltF Photography, one of my long-time favorite photographers ever. I've been following John Michael Cooper since 2006 I think.

Danielle's Plantation Bridal Portraits- Rosedown, St. Francisville, LA

Danielle wanted a plantation feel for her bridal portraits. We were fortunate to find the hydrangeas in full bloom! There were two types- some tight blue ones, and some looser-flowered blue ones.

Danielle is a planner, a christian, an organizer, and a sweetheart. She had the most organized wedding notebook I've ever seen. If only I had half her organizational skills, my life would be.... well, different. Maybe I'd just be more stressed out over everything. I don't know- it's hard to imagine being as much of an organizer as she is. I kind-of enjoy the artist life, and that's why I have Natalie to organize things in my office. I hope my daughter will be an organizer! She already sometimes likes to keep things in their place (as much as a 3 year old can).

Danielle's wedding was this past Saturday at Judson Baptist Retreat Center, where she and Matthew met a few years ago.
