Kellie's senior proofing session

Kellie and her mom and sister came
down from the Shreveport area today for their proofing session. Here's a sneak peek... This is a standout of one of my very favorites from her shoot. We did her destination senior portraits at Desert Plantation. They stayed the night at the bed and breakfast, and I met them there the next morning and did her senior portraits. Kellie is a senior of the 2013 class.

Random thoughts

There are so many random thoughts from today, but here are just a few off the top of my head.
--There is a new website coming! The wedding site hasn't been compatible with iphones or ipads, and the other site isn't organized. There are two new and improved (and organized) sites on their way- one just for seniors, and one just for weddings.
--My baby is sleeping through the night now! I feel like a new person, and I've been able to give up the coffee addiction for the last week or so.
Hope everybody has a great Tuesday!

Stephanie and Joe's wedding, The Victorian of the Felicianas, April 21, 2012, St Francisville, LA

Stephanie and Joe's wedding at the Victorian of the Felicianas in Saint Francisville, Louisiana, was a beautiful ceremony and reception. Here's the link for the trailer to their video by Contrast Films.

I especially liked the flowers at this wedding, and they were done by Jake's On the Avenue, Denham Springs, LA.

Stephanie and her aunt made the wedding cake together!

I loved that her "something blue" was the blue ink on the bottom of her purple shoes. And, I really liked the delicate garter.

Stephanie also made the favors for guests- red velvet cupcakes in pint mason jars, with a custom top and the ribbons.

Stephanie's dad coming in to see her in her dress.

They didn't do the first look, but they did do "first touch" and got to talk to each other through the wall.

Wedding details of note- Saint Francisville Wedding Photos

Pinterest has really influenced the weddings I've done lately! Here are some details from this year's weddings that I just think are the coolest things!

Amber rode in to the plantation wedding on the tailgate of this truck that Clay helped rebuild. Best entrance to a wedding ever! It was a big hit with the guests.

I love the Mr and Mrs signs from the photo booth!

Julie & Tommy incorporated a car that her dad rebuilt.

Chalkboard sign from Amber & Clay's plantation wedding in South Louisiana.

Custom koozies and Dr Peppers in a rustic crate.

The moonshine- I can't say enough how much of a hit this was at the wedding! I do hope (and believe) that all germs are killed by moonshine, because this jug was passed around to nearly every guest at the wedding until it was empty.

Photobooth chalkboard sign

I liked the initials on the cake that Stephanie baked and decorated herself, with the help of an aunt.
Custom serving pieces from Brooke & Troy's Desert Plantation Wedding. The silver tray was an heirloom from her family.

Blake & Michal had custom toasting glasses beside their cake.

Amber & Clay had a mason jar sort of theme for their wedding. These were for people to drink out of. What a great idea.

The koozies, crates, and moonshine at Amber & Clay's rustic plantation wedding. Awesome.

A sparkler exit. These are all family members making the different letters.

Cathy's bridal portraits. Old Centenary Inn, Jackson, Louisiana. Wedding

Cathy and Gavin were married last weekend at Zachary Community Church in Zachary, Louisiana, and their wedding reception was at Old Centenary Inn, Jackson, Louisiana. Old Centenary Inn is also where we chose to do her bridal portraits, and it was a perfect fit for her. Cathy is so photogenic, and was so adventurous throughout her bridal session and also during the first look wedding portraits. She sat on the ground, laid on the side of the fountain, spun around, leaned against walls, and even more just to get great pictures. And, her dress still looked great on the wedding day!

I have to thank Kirby, Cathy's good friend and bridesmaid, for helping Cathy stay in a great mood, helping with hair, and for becoming a lighting assistant on the day of the bridal portrait session.

Julie and Tommy, Brookshire, TX Wedding

Julie and Tommy's wedding was really special to me because Julie worked under me and my husband when she was on the Camp Peniel work crew- when she was in high school! She hadn't been dating Tommy very long then. I was so excited to be a part of their wedding and see how they've both grown in the last 3 or 4 years.
They had the best first dance song EVER- an orchestral version of Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters."
Thanks so much for choosing me, Julie! It was a joy to be there and be part of your wedding.
