Leslie & Patrick- save the date - Natchez, Mississippi Wedding, Dunleith. Tara Marie Photography

Leslie and Patrick ordered their save the date magnets through me for their wedding at Dunleith in Natchez, MS this coming November. It was really fun to design them, and I liked them so much that I ordered extras to keep as samples! My favorite part (besides the picture, of course) is probably the textured pattern at the bottom and the fancy edges. There are several edge types to choose from.

I can custom design your save the date magnets, or you can also do like Lyndsey and Anthony did, and print them as 5x7 or 5x5 prints or cards with envelopes.

Here are some of my favorites from the engagement session!

Amber Ryals Bryant- Bridal Portraits. Elm Park Plantation, St Francisville, Louisiana (St Francisville, LA Wedding)

Amber Bryant took her bridals at Elm Park Plantation, a private plantation in Saint Francisville where the owners occasionally let close friends have their weddings. I liked Amber's dress because it was convertible! It had a long skirt and then the long skirt came off to produce a really cute short white dress. As you can imagine, at their wedding, the more moonshine that Amber drank, the sooner that long skirt came off so that Amber could dance the night away!

Dana, High School Senior Portraits 2012

Dana is a senior from Ponchatoula, Louisiana who came out to my house to do her senior portraits. She's a track superstar and also plays soccer. We took most of her pictures down at Thompson Creek, and the light was just perfect for her blue eyes.
Congratulations, Dana!

Jayce Adams- College Senior, St Francisville Louisiana Senior Portraits

Jayce Adams is a college graduate this year and came out to my place to take his senior pictures with his sweet dog. My cat helped keep the dog's attention in some of the pics!

Heather & Jordan's Wedding Album

Heather and Jordan's wedding album arrived yesterday! I have lately been really enjoying seeing the products that people get and create with their pictures. This is an example of the cust designed storybook albums that we offer. Heather and Jordan chose a white leather cover for their wedding album. My favorite page is a tie between the dress page and the big picture of Heather and Jordan under the tree.

Beginner's Photography Workshop, February 10, 2013 (How to use a digital SLR camera)

Do you have a new "fancy" camera but need to learn how to use it? Check out our Sunday afternoon Beginner's Photography Workshop on February 10, 2013 in beautiful St. Francisville, Louisiana.  It's designed for people who have digital SLR cameras (the "fancy" digital cameras) but want to know how to use them better.

Register HERE.
Sunday February 10th, 2-7 pm, $95 ($80 for your 2nd person)

During the three hours of the workshop, Tara will cover the basics of how to take better pictures. This includes learning to "see" better pictures, understanding and using your camera's capabilities, learning about some equipment that can make your photos go from good to great, using the best lighting situations, and choosing the best locations. You will also take home a booklet of all class notes to review after you go home. We will stop in between some sections of classroom time to do a hands-on activity to practice the concept that we just learned.

During the last two hours of the workshop, all class attendees will move outside and photograph actual people outdoors.
This is an opportunity to apply what you learned in the classroom setting during the previous two hours. Tara and helpers will show you how to find locations, see and use available light, decide when to use flash, how to frame a picture, pose your subject, and avoid common mistakes, and then she will give you a few assignments to practice. You will get time to practice taking better pictures, ask questions, and brainstorm with fellow attendees.

A digital SLR camera (the kind that that will let you change lenses and has at controls for shutter speed and aperture) is required for the class.

A light snack will be provided. Location is to be determined depending on the number of attendees.
