Vanessa's seniors

Vanessa is a senior at Lampasas High School- My husband and I actually ride horses at the Lampasas riding club playdays, and that's how we hooked up. I had only seen Vanessa in her Friday night horseback riding clothes, so when she hopped out of the truck, I was taken back! Here are some of my favorites from our shoot in downtown Burnet, TX. TM

Donna & John's wedding

Donna and John's wedding was so special last Saturday! It was very laid back, which is always a relief for the photographer. Donna's mom is a wedding planner, recently moved to Horseshoe Bay from Santa Barbara, CA, so of course, the details of the wedding were fabulous! Donna's family were a tight-knit group of Italians, so the food, wine, and company were great. All I can do with this wedding is tell the story.

John and Donna met at a golf tournament in Horseshoe Bay, and got married on the same golf course.

These are Donna's parents. They seemed to be a very close family. I thought this picture was very special.

I loved this picture. This is Donna's daughter, just after the ceremony. Notice John's hand on the right.

The Texas late afternoon sun was just beautiful. It kept everyone warm enough to stay outside.

The wines were popular throughout the night, and it was a family tradition to serve wine at events, apparently...

This is the man who introduced John and Donna! There were some very heartwarming toasts during the reception.

I loved this picture because Joann is such a "take care of it" person. All Donna had to do after the cake cutting is just watch.

The girls doing their thing...

This was the beautiful party from the view across the golf course!

Kate's graduation postcards

Kate, a personal friend and my professional assistant at times, didn't want to do senior portraits, but her mom decided to make the final decision and set up her appointment. Despite her previous objections, Kate was a PERFECT subject to photograph, and we ended up having a lot of fun in Marble Falls that morning! My favorite thing about Kate is her wittiness (is that a word?)

That reminds me of my favorite quote that Kate said when she was working for me last November and December. She said "That's not very usual. Usual, is that a word?" It still makes me laugh!!!!!

This is Kate's postcard to send to friends and family to announce her graduation. Notice the 4.0 GPA........ :) If you're a graphic designer, interior designer, or even just a person who likes to design, I'd love some feedback on these postcards- good points, and places to improve. TM

Lia's head shots

Lia found my flyer at Sonic (where I go ALMOST every day for a happy hour diet cranberry limeade). She has big hopes and dreams of being an actress, but needs head shots before she can move forward with pursuing those dreams. I was very happy to help her out with those. Lia was a great subject, and was such a good sport about her pictures! We did these in a back alley in Marble Falls. A friend, Kristy, at Attitude Salon, did Lia's awesome hair. It was really hard for me to pick my favorites.
I've been working tons of hours lately to keep caught up on weddings and senior portraits. I'm currently designing two custom graduation invitations. I really like designing, but it does take time....

I've also begun a new adventure with my horse, Tex. I recently traded my crazy horse, Spiderman, for Tex, a 2-year-old malnourished grullo registered quarter horse. There is a new blog for all of that stuff- www.adventureswithtex.blogspot.com. So, if anyone wants to bring diet coke, Community Coffee (with lots of milk and sugar) or a diet cranberry limeade by the office, I'd be one happy photographer!

Becca's seniors

Becca's senior portraits took us on a tour all over Marble Falls, including to two churches and the Ramp. I loved riding in her sweet red jeep!

Laura & Jason

Laura and Jason had their first date at the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens. Although I had never been there before, I met them there for their engagement session on my way to Magnolia, AR, where I helped with a baby shower for my friend, Casey. Laura and Jason are SUCH a smart and interesting couple, and it was really special to take pictures at the same location where they had their first date. They remembered sitting on that same bench during that date.
Josh and I did a similar thing for our engagement photos. I set my 1st digital camera, the Canon Rebel, on the tailgate of his truck, put it on self-timer, and took our engagement pictures at Tyler State Park, the place where we started dating on a road trip. We later lived in Tyler for 6 months. Those engagement pictures turned out OK, but we should have splurged and had someone else take the pictures!
