Bravo Charlie

Mark Vidrine, one of my coolest friends while in Baton Rouge, and Josh Cartmill, a friend of friends in Baton Rouge, formed this band a while back. I got to FINALLY go hear them play when Josh and I went to Baton Rouge earlier in May. I LOVE their music and hope they go a long way. These aren't my best pics- I was rushed- but the pics were fun to play with. TM

Floors at a fabulous house

Cory Hanneman from Texas Etch and Score called me again last week to take pictures of this fabulous house being built by Hays Dream Homes. It was on the lake and had some really modern colors. The concrete floor certainly didn't look like concrete. I don't know how those guys make concrete so shiny, but I'm thankful that I don't have to learn that kind of stuff- I can just take pictures of it. It was the first shoot in which I used my new Canon 5D AND the new 50 mm 1.8 lens. I've decided that I like doing commercial photography and would like to add it as a section of Tara Marie Photography. Look for a new link on the website. Some of these pics aren't of the floors, but they're of some of my favorite things about this house.

Fisher postcard

So, the Fisher family is moving to the Dallas area (along with about 3 of my other friends- maybe I should go too), and they wanted some postcards to send to friends and family with their new address. What is it about Dallas that is so appealing? Here's the postcard design. It was so much fun to take pictures of Daniel. He's a crazy kid.

Storms in the night.....

Well, tonight Josh and I were doing our weekly Wal-Mart trip and suddenly, the announcer recommended that all shoppers and employees move to the dressing room area of the store due to a tornado headed our way! After leaning on our baskets for a while, all of the shoppers were then asked to sit on the floor for their own safety. It was definitely the craziest Wal-Mart trip I've ever had. The storms didn't tear down Wal-Mart, didn't tear apart our house, and didn't blow away our dog Jolie or any of the horses (yet). We made it home in between storms, unloaded the groceries quickly, and came up to the camp office, which is a much safer place than our house. We've been hanging out here. I've worked on several pictures, updated my facebook page and listened to the radio online while waiting out the storms, and they're still not over! Josh looked for cars- we're thinking of selling the big truck that I drive and buying a more gas-friendly car, hopefully a volkswagen?
Anyway, that was my interesting night. Make sure to check out the facebook page and add me as a friend! Tara the stranded........

Renee and Gary's Wedding

Renee and Gary were married May 3, 2008 at Willow Point near Buchanan Dam. It was a beautiful location on the lake and a gorgeous wedding! I felt like I was in Florida. Since I'm newer to the hill country area (been here only 2 years), I'm always amazed at how beautiful the lakes and the land are. Renee and Gary are such sweet people. Maybe I should rephrase. Renee is such a sweet person who married a crazy guy. I really enjoyed shooting their wedding!

By the way..

By the way, guys,
I usually upload to this blog when I don't have a lot to say. Besides, you may not really care about what's going on in my personal life. But if you want to delve into the life as Tara sees it, you're welcome to add me as a friend on facebook or Myspace. But as a warning, I check facebook more often than myspace. I also have a Tara Marie Photography page on facebook that I may start uploading pics to instead of my personal site. Not sure yet... what do you think?
Someone needs to leave me a comment on here. Is it possible?

Breeanne Senior Portraits

Breeanne was a good sport for EVERYTHING I wanted to try. I had a good time trying to stop her from smiling- it was nearly impossible! Soon the album will be available on the client online viewing section on the main website,
